Passion Follows Us You by Valere Cheers Brown

We often hear people including myself say, “Follow your passion” or “Do What You Love.”

We forget about in order to do what we love, we must first love what we do?

Do we really need anybody to tell us this?

When we do what we love, it shows because we do it on a regular basis and nobody really needs to tell us.

But, there are times when we may not know what we love to do and had it all of the time, but needed some inspiration to bring it out!

It happens to the best of us.

I do believe that when we are told this by our leaders, entrepreneurs, mentors, motivators, etc. they want to see what you got?

And until you bring out the real you, whatever that may be, ūüėČ we just continue to do what we love until we get better from hard work and dedication?

I can say that I have been writing since a very early age and wrote so much that if our house had not caught on fire, I would have had some interesting books as a kid which I know would have been published by now.

The more I wrote as a child, the more people always criticized my writing.

This is where following our passion comes into play and we don’t need anybody to tell us to do what we love to do.

But we may have had it bottled up for so long that we may have forgotten what we love to do and that is our passion becausse no matter how long it take for it come back out, it will eventually after we continue practicing by actually pursuing we do what we love and I would think this could be called our passion!.

If we did not love what we were doing we would not do it all of the time.

I really do believe that when we are kids our talents show!

I think more parents should watch their children very closely and when they see something which their children love to do, then this is where the parents need to follow their children’s passion and keep them interested in by getting somebody to inspire and motivate them to keep going.

This is where we have to teach our children as well as ourselves that we have to keep at it and never give up no matter what others think of our work!

For example, if you see your child dancing all of the time and standing on their toes, maybe put them in a school for dancing if you can afford or introduce them dancing videos to encourage them it takes hard work to become better at what we like.

For some of us, we are born with a talent which may or may not take much motiviating and you are just good at it from birth.

But we still need to encourage not to give up, if it is what you love and support would really help us too.

Or, if you see your child good in beating on something showing signs of playing a drum every time they hear a song, again get them involved in music in school or something and find somebody who could be their mentor very early on.

We are the ones who have to follow our children’s passion and there are so many ways today which we can make our children’s dreams come true.

Yes, if you love something it will show in your younger years and with most of the talent beginning to see, they are born with it!

We as parents just have to pay attention and keep our children hopeful and stop asking them “What do they want to be when they grow up?”

I have always thought the stupest question asked when I was growing up was “What do you want to be when you grow up?

Then for some of us nothing is really even done to help us pursue our dreams as kids.

I would make teachers, aunts, & uncles so angry when they asked me that question and would tell “I wanted to be grown.”

I wanted to be grown so that I could leave their presence for asking that absurd question.

Some adults not realizing that I wanted to be the same thing they were, only not to be asking such a dumb question of when we are very young.

We as parents and adults should see with our own eyes if we even bother to pay attention to our children what they may want to be now, not when they grow up!

There was an article I read in Fortune or either Forbes which stated, “Passion is not something you follow, but passion is something that will follow you as you put in the hard work to become valuable to the world.”

But, I agree totally with this and passion does takes time!

I think passion is something we are born with, but we still have to be groomed before we expose to the world so that we can be the best we can be and hopefully somebody will want to invest into us, because you have helped yourself and continued to get better and proved to them that this is what you love to do!

Just like a hobby, I do believe a hobby is something you enjoy doing and a hobby could become a lifetime career if you ask me and honestly a passion could be a hobby.

After all, a hobby is something we like to do, but all of the time¬†an activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure.

According to Merriam Webster the word passion means several things but basically the same:”a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.

When we have strong feelings; this to me means we are serious and when we enjoy what we do, it means all the difference in the world when we love what we do.

How many people in this world really love what they do on their jobs?

I bet if we took a survey, we would find that not too many actually like what they do, but they do it because it puts food on the table or keeps a roof over our head.

It makes a big difference we love what we do.

When we love what we do, we will do anytime of the day or night 24/7 and every chance we get!

Now, who would not like to do what they love doing all of the time?

I’ll bet many would agree that if they could do their passion they would love to be paid for too.

But, a lot of times our passions are just what they are and some of us don’t even realize that what we love to do is what we should be pursuing.

I guess this is why when we love what we do, we never get tired of doing!

When we follow our passion it means we are producing something which we feel really important about and it gives us a sense of control our lives or it could be a real connection to other people

This to me gives people a real sense of passion.

But,  passion takes time and when we do follow our passion it seems like forever trying to get others to also follow your passion and mostly gaining respect for it, I guess you could say.

I also don’t think you have to put forth much effort and we just do and when we continue to do it, we get better over a period of time.

If you practice and pursue what you love, over a period of time somebody will see that you are serious about doing what you love to do all of the time because it shows.

It goes back to the being a kid and it is easy to spot what kids love to do very early on if we even pay attention.

There are many children blessed with parents who take the time to be conscience of what they see that their kids love to do and am seeing this a lot with the talent shows such as American Idol, etc.

No, I just don’t think we need anybody to tell us to pursue what we love unless we don’t know and then they bring it out of you somehow.

But when we have passions, I will bet you that we started doing it at a very early age but nobody bothered to pay attention.

I know our parents do the very best they can when raising us, but it is very important to pay attention to your child’s passion and you will have to tear them away from it.

Just maybe, we ought to keep them our children interested and in that area of what they love to do, and one day it just may pay off and be able to pay for their own college education if they choose!

I just honestly do believe that we should “Try not to concentrate on the quality your work offers you.”

Because if we truly love what we do, eventually it will pay off and we will automatically get better, mistakes an all will one day truly make us proud that we never gave up!

I feel that we should concentrate on the worth we create through your pasison of work of what you love, how your activities are vital to the world at large, how you are great at what you do, and/or how you’re associated with other individuals.”

When you do, the enthusiasm will take over and in the event that you buckle sufficiently down and stick with it, some time or another you’ll be so great they can’t disregard you.

This could be a good time for having a mentor in our lives and others sometime see things which we don’t even realize that we are good at.

So, good luck to you and think about pursuing what you love to do and don’t think that you cannot do it and get paid for!

Just keep doing what you love and the longer we do it, the better we will get and we won’t even realize that we just may had the talent all of the time.

We are born with talents, each and every one of us are. When we were kids we just did not pursue it, while being busy doing others things for other people or trying to please others doing something which they wanted us to be!

I leave with this famous quote, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Over a period of time it will begin to show and you will shine because it is something you love to do and have fun doing all of the time, not just some of the time!
