Over a million abandoned their cars and parked, stopped them right where they were on the roads, highways, streets, etc., and the government had to lower the price. WHEN THE PEOPLE ARE SMART THE CORRUPT CAN’T ACCOMPLISH THEIR GOALS.

I must say that as a kid my dad used to tell me, “Valerie, you just are so hard-headed and why do you always have to disagree with what others say?”

My family would get so mad at me when I would disagree with my father’s doctor!

My father’s doctor even told my family that he would prefer I didn’t come to his office with daddy and they could, but not me!

My dad’s doctor very rarely saw me and I don’t quite know what he thought but when my family or nephew would take daddy to the doctor this would be break time for me since I was the one at home with him all of the time and he didn’t quite know me like he saw the others all of the time.

When I did come to the office with daddy sometimes, he would ask who am I?

We all who have been caregivers know how hard it is taking care of the sick, right?

Anyway, he did not like anybody questioning him the way I would when it would come to my father’s health and all he did was write prescriptions and I did not like this at all.

So, it was me against my family and whose side would my father take, the majority won being my siblings, including his doctor’s word and not mine?

I will be honest, I did not like the doctor because he was pretty much never there and when my father would go to the office he would be charged a copay which I had a problem with especially when the doctor was never there to answer any questions my father or I would have and when he was there he would pull that prescription pad out and write my father prescriptions all of the time which only made my dad sicker!

Anyway, most of my life I have never been afraid to stand for what I believed in even if it meant standing alone!

I say this to say that you have to use common sense and not be afraid of challenging and asking questions even if makes others pretty upset or even uncomfortable.

I also say this to say that doctors are pretty good at taking care of their patients if the patients take care of themselves and I mean not be afraid of asking questions and not just believe everything they say.  They are not God I would always tell my father who loved going to church more than anybody I have ever known in my life, even when he was sick.  I have always had problems with many people who believe it is their way or no way and believe flesh over God’s word!

Now, I will change the subject quickly and ask you this question!

Have you ever been told by a doctor that coffee is not good for you if you have asthma?

I always told people that my grandmother used to pour coffee into the cup saucer and give to me and that is how I no longer have asthma right now at my age of 64.

Yes, children can outgrow but I had asthma so very bad that my father would sometimes have to come home from work to take me to the emergency room and I had it deathly bad! But thank God for my grandmother who listened to me when I asked her questions and one of my questions as a little girl was, “Grandma, is there something you can give to me so I won’t have to rely upon the breathing apparatus and I hated that thing even when I could not breathe.  I just did not like the idea of depending on something when I could not breathe.  Grandma came to the rescue and saved my life with coffee in the saucer and I would drink like I was an old woman and even love it today at age 64!

I am doing a research paper right now on how there is proven research with facts showing how coffee actually helps people with asthma.  So, regardless of what doctors may tell you, don’t be afraid to try new things and don’t be afraid of change even if they say don’t!  Only you will know what it will do and how will you know if it worked or not if you don’t try new things?

It is your life and most importantly it is your health and the life you save may be your very own by using your common sense which God so graciously gave to each and every one of us. Whether you use it or not is up to you!

We all have different definitions of failure, simply because we all have … But fear of failure (also called “atychiphobia”) is when we allow that fear to… A reluctance to try new things or get involved in challenging projects. …. Swimming or just being in the water exercising can be the way to exercise for people for whom weight-bearing exercises could be painful!

There are so many avenues we could consider taking when it comes to employees health and well-being coming first!

Yes, employees should come first and not the customer!

I have always believed that the employees come first and to think that people honestly believe that those who don’t think so are quite messed up in the head and selfish.

Why are so many companies going out of business?

Why are so many companies having such high turnovers?

Why are employees not being put first in the workplace?

Isn’t it obvious employees should be happy in order for there to be happy customers?

Isn’t it important that everyone is happy when it comes to teamwork?

We are so quick to tell our employees what they should do and not do but what about the employees telling and giving suggestions of how they actually feel about your workplace?

Would your workplace pass the test if you lined up 100 employees and asked them how they feel the employer treats or even appreciates them and what have they done lately for them?

The sooner employers realize this the better the world’s workplace will become.

Let’s take a look at some objectives which could also make employees happy to come to work:

If my employer showed me that they care more about me than the customer, I would be more willing to come to work each and every single day!

What if jobs had pools where employees could sit and/or do exercises to work on pain areas of the body?

We are talking a lot about smart buildings, well perhaps we should concentrate on making not only the building smart but allow it to have incentives for the employees.

I love the quote by Winston Churchill, “We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us.”

Couldn’t this go for the human body as well?

Shouldn’t we be addressing the body and getting older does not mean the body deteriorates!

But when you do the same thing over and over again, wouldn’t you think anything would deteriorate?

It is time to concentrate on your well-being and not retiring but it is time for refiring and when doing what you love, it will be okay if along the way you are taken care!

Where do we spend the majority of our lives?

Isn’t the workplace and even if working for yourself shouldn’t you be taking care of what is most important and that is your body?

Let’s pay attention to what really matters!


You Wanna Hear Some Good News? by Valerie Cheers Brown

I can hear my Grandmother Carrie telling me as a kid, “Child, always notice the people who are happy for your happiness, and sad for your sadness. Always notice the people who cut you off when you are sharing good news and happy to hear bad news. The ones who are happy when you are happy and sad when you are sad are the ones who deserve a special place in your heart.” – Valerie Cheers Brown

There is so much more to be happy about even when bad things occur in our lives.  I know and the good outweighs the bad news and the bad news is what can actually help you to realize just how blessed you are.

We should be grateful for the bad things which make us so much stronger especially when you don’t let them stop your main objective in life!

I try my best each and every day to: share a smile, say hello, do the right thing and the do the very best I can with what God has laid out for me, help somebody each and every day you wake up, and most importantly always show people that you care. You do these things and watch how the universe gives them right back to you.

When I hear somebody say, “life is hard,” I am often tempted to ask, “Compared to what?” When you do good, you feel good, when you feel good, you do good, when you do good, good comes right back at you.  Most importantly, “When you treat others the way you want to be treated it comes back to you also!”

I have to catch myself sometimes and remember to practice what I preach and there are people who can trigger that button in your heart and make you often forget! If you do forget, always apologize!

If you have the humility to listen to others you get a lot of listeners when you speak.

Always have an attitude of gratitude and give thanks for everything that happens to you, even the bad things!

I am glad I am not normal! Hearing good news or other’s accomplishments makes me happy and saying, “Congratulations,” inspires me to keep moving toward making my dreams come true.  Other’s accomplishments also give me a sense of drive to want to be a part of that league of accomplishments and to not give up.

I love seeing others accomplishments and hearing good news is what I thrive on and need in my life and is passion so needed to help me pull through to get to my destination.

Michael Jackson had a quote which said, “People write negative things, cause they feel that is what sells. Good news to them doesn’t sell.” Well, I have a quote, “Look & listen to good news and ignore bad news and when ignoring bad news, all good news begins coming to you.” – Valerie Cheers Brown

I just love inspiring others and just the other day I was speaking with a group of all ages of black men and was telling them how smart they were and don’t you know that you come from a line of inventors, scientists, leaders, risk-takers, etc. legends who were amazingly smart and knew how to create positive things to help the world be where it is right now?

Yes, and do you know that they all listened and I listened to them speak about what they were working on to get themselves out of poverty.

They began asking questions about the boarded-up homes that were everywhere!

I explained to them that I was not a very religious person but I did believe in God and I felt that God is giving all kinds of signs to us right now!

But only do we know this when we have given our lives to Him.

I also mentioned that God gives us all the tools we need to reach out to Him and create something beautiful and great, but sometimes we turn to our own flesh options which may work for a little time but not for long!  I am guilty too but God is showing me and I am taking what He gives to me and sharing with you.

God is trying to get our attention and I told them to just look around and be aware of what is going on around you all of the time. Ask yourself, “Why and what is happening in our hometown of Saint Louis as is all around the U.S. right now and how can I help turn things around?”

The black men started to ask questions about the boarded-up homes and I explained to them how we as a group of people should partner with one another and turn this negative into a positive and go to the library and become knowledgeable about what and how to obtain these boarded homes/land?

I then said, “God wants to help us all, including me and I am the messenger and trying my best to be a resource and need your help.

There are many ways God reaches out to us but we tend to brush Him off or just totally ignore His signs as something to complain about rather than take what He gives to us that may seem like negative and do something with to change our lives and then help others and show them how He has helped you to get yourself out of poverty.

Being creative is the name of the game and these dreams may sound almost impossible to those who don’t even want to understand but keep talking and looking for positive & good opportunities and the universe will begin sending them to you!

I really do feel God is calling out to all who are listening and I am one of them and hope the young men I spoke to heard Him speaking through me.

These men, most of them had past troubles with the law and had felonies and when I told them how they were not alone, they really listened.

As I frequently ride public transportation I see and hear that most who have had troubles with the law think that there is no way out and all hope is lost, but I believe God has me right where I am for His reasons and that is to ensure them that there is hope and God has sent me to be his deliverer of the good news!

Do you feel the Lord leading you in a direction of getting out of somewhere you have been for way too long? He may tell you to start your own business. He may show you how to buy those boarded up homes and have the land for a development you may partner with.

The more you start speaking into existence the more He will show you and He will push you in that direction. This might be what God has planned for your life to get out of poverty. He will continue to give clues and all you have to do is pay attention to what is going on around us at all times, both the negative and the positive.

When you begin congratulating and being happy for those who are making great things happen and accomplishing watch what the Universe will do for you and begin sending you all kinds of great legends doing and making great things happen just like you!

I honestly believe if you have nothing good to say you should shut the hell up!

Deep in my heart Prince’s legacy is inspiring & motivational and he has left us all who are willing to learn something about what not to let others do to you when you have God-given talents!

I believe there is a great lesson showing others that you can’t TAKE stuff with you either when you leave this world! This man is a great legacy and is what is most important about living your life is your legacy. I also respect Prince for he would take others work and made it his in a respectful way! Who would mind if Prince sang their song? You are fixed for life because of his caring and sharing your music 

Do you have a legacy? Prince sure did and the world will never forget Prince and there will never be another like him unless you learn from what he has left us! Just my thoughts and think about him quite a lot and he was a genius but he still did not know everything but he sure left everything and you cannot take it with you can you? 😦 

RIP and we’ll never forget you and will pass along the great lessons you left for us.
